It is estimated that the cost of this concession, should the dollar remain between 1/9d. and 1/10d., would not exceed $5,000 per mengem. His Excellency proposes, subject to the concurrence of the Finance Committee, to belograph to the Secretary of State for permission to bring the scale into effect as from 1st October, 1926, as the need of assistance in many cases is urgent.
